Blues president Graham Smorgon said personal and work commitments meant that the two men did not have enough time to devote to their positions.
Both had been directors for four years, with Valmorbida having served as vice-president since April this year.
Midfielder Matthew Boyd will now wear number five previously worn by Rohan Smith, while first round draftee Andrejs Everitt will wear number 29.
