BACKS
Heath Shaw (Collingwood) – On the back of an outstanding match against Melbourne, Shaw backed up his effort with another beauty, claiming a game-high 11 rebound 50s and 26 touches against the Sydney Swans.
Max Hudghton (St Kilda) – In just his second match for the season, the veteran managed to keep the competition's leading goalkicker, Carlton's Brendan Fevola, in check. 'Fev' kicked two goals.
Dustin Fletcher (Essendon) – After missing five matches with a broken leg, the champion returned to play a vital role. Fletcher had an equal game-high five rebounds and finished with 18 touches, stymieing Melbourne's young forward line.
HALF BACKS
Ryan Hargrave (Western Bulldogs) – His 151st match was one of his finest, winning an equal career-best 29 disposals – for the third time. He collected 14 touches in the first term to help kick-start the Dogs' massive win over the Power.
Jason Roe (Brisbane Lions) – Instrumental in his side's outstanding win over Hawthorn, the recalled Roe quelled the influence of Lance Franklin, keeping him to just one goal and five touches. Roe had 12 disposals in his first match back in the side since round five.
Andy Otten (Adelaide) – The youngster continued his impressive second season with 20 disposals against North Melbourne. Already a NAB AFL Rising Star nominee this year, he looms as a genuine contender for the Ron Evans Medal.
CENTRES
Leigh Montagna (St Kilda) – Continued his stellar season with 36 disposals (12 contested) and a brilliant running goal late in the match. He was also outstanding in the zones, claiming a game-high 11 inside 50s and four rebounds.
Lenny Hayes (St Kilda) – The vice-captain continued his first-class season, finishing with 30 touches to be among his side's most influential. His attack on the ball and one-percenters were a highlight, emphasised by his nine tackles.
Richard Tambling (Richmond) – Continued his fine recent form, after an early season dropping in round four. Tambling gained 28 disposals against West Coast – a personal best – claiming 80 touches in the past three rounds.
HALF-FORWARDS
Ryan O'Keefe (Sydney Swans) – Gained a career-best 41 disposals (13 contested) and kicked two goals in an outstanding display. His form in the past two months has been excellent after a quiet start.
Nick Riewoldt (St Kilda) – The captain continued his brilliant season with 5.3 and three scoring assists. He also claimed 17 touches and 10 marks. Riewoldt is second on the goalkicking table with 40 goals.
Alan Didak (Collingwood) – After gaining a personal best 33 disposals in round 11, the silky-skilled Pie had an even better game with 34 touches and two goals in a best-an-ground display. He also had six scoring assists, nine inside 50s and nine clearances.
FORWARDS
Shannon Byrnes (Geelong) – Played his best game for the Cats, booting a career-best five goals and claiming 26 touches against Fremantle. It continued an impressive season for Byrnes, who has averaged 24.5 disposals in his past four matches.
Jonathan Brown (Brisbane Lions) – Now just one goal shy of competition leading goalkicker Brendan Fevola, Brown bagged five goals in a commanding display to claim 40 for the season. His contested work was again a feature.
Mitch Morton (Richmond) – Kicked an equal career-best five goals – also his best haul for the season – from eight scoring shots. He now has 24 majors for 2009. His marking was also a feature – five of his 12 grabs were contested.
FOLLOWERS
Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle) – After starring against the Cats at Subiaco last year, the AFL's tallest player against shone against them. He gained 20 touches (12 contested) and dominated the ruck with 37 hit outs.
Daniel Cross (Western Bulldogs) – The highly-consistent Dog amassed a game-high 37 disposals and helped set the tone with 20 touches by the main break. He also laid five tackles and took nine marks.
Luke Power (Brisbane Lions) – One of architects in the win, the triple premiership player amassed a game-high 36 disposals, including 21 by half-time. He also laid 10 tackles and had seven inside 50s.
INTERCHANGE
Jared Brennan (Brisbane Lions) – Continued his outstanding recent form, either in the ruck or playing in the midfield. Brennan won 19 disposals, 12 hit outs, five inside 50s, five clearances and five tackles, highlighting the versatility in his game.
Simon Black (Brisbane Lions) – The champion midfielder continued yet another fine year, on the back of an interrupted pre-season, winning 29 disposals. Like teammate Brennan, he also claimed five inside 50s, five clearances and five tackles.
Justin Sherman (Brisbane Lions) – Claimed 29 disposals and kicked two goals to continue his fine season and recapture the type of form that netted him a second placing in the club champion in 2006.
Michael Doughty (Adelaide) – Still underrated at 29 and with 154 matches under his belt, Doughty was continued his impressive season with 31 disposals. He also laid seven tackles.
