For the past two weeks the POWER and the SANFL have been teaming up to visit CABRA Dominican College to teach the girls some important football skills through the ‘Girl Power’ program.

Basic skills were learnt like kicking and getting used to the shape of the ball, and of course, handballing and bouncing. There was some difficulty with the bouncing but the girls did very well.

The girls were pretty excited when they were able to do the best part of football, the tackling! They learnt how to tackle, bump and shepherd. There were some hard bumps that nearly knocked an SANFL staff member on the ground!

After an exciting game of football/baseball the girls received a Girl Power bag full of POWER goodies.

If your school would like to be involved in the Girl Power Program for 2009 please contact the club.
