Collingwood’s Dane Swan and Paul Medhurst polled 12 Brownlow votes each to lead the club on Monday night at the Crown Casino in Melbourne.

Scott Pendlebury was next in line with seven votes and Leon Davis finished the night with six.

Medhurst, Collingwood’s only All-Australian, received three votes in rounds five, six and 15.

The 179cm forward/midfielder played every game this season earning a reputation as a reliable and consistent player in his second year at the club.

Medhurst finished the season with 50 goals to lead the team.

Polling on Brownlow night is nothing new for Swan finishing in a tie for fourth last year with 20 votes and in a tie for 10th in 2006 with 11 votes.

The 25-year-old midfielder/forward finished the year third ranked eighth in the competition in total disposals (590) averaging 25 a game.

He kicked a season-high 22 goals placing him fifth at the club.

Swan earned three votes in rounds 10 and fourteen.

Collingwood had 15 players poll votes on the night combining for a team total of 65 votes (10th overall).

Notes
Scott Pendlebury polled three votes in round 21 and seven for the night taking his career total to eight.  Leon Davis polled a career best six votes leaving him with 11 in his eight seasons at the club.  Heath Shaw was voted best on ground in round three, the third time in his career.  Chris Bryan and Harry O'Brien broke their Brownlow duck after polling one vote each.
