The Saints will bid farewell to some of their greats, but Freo has finals on its mind
SUMMARY
The Saints' season has been petering out for a while now but they were able to celebrate their fourth win on Sunday when they beat Gold Coast by 46 points at Etihad Stadium. They got plenty from their veterans, with Nick Riewoldt kicking four goals and taking 15 marks while Clint Jones nullified Gary Ablett. Meanwhile, four goals to Hayden Ballantyne and Matthew Pavlich helped Fremantle thrash Port Adelaide by 74 points on Saturday night at Patersons Stadium. The Dockers' fifth-straight win elevated them to third on the ladder but they'll need Geelong to lose to the Brisbane Lions at Simonds Stadium next weekend if they're to pinch second spot.

THE SIX POINTS
1. Fremantle has won the past two contests between the two sides, but over a longer period, St Kilda holds a clear advantage with eight of the past 10. At Etihad Stadium, the Saints have dominated with six wins from seven contests.
2. The Saints and Dockers played each other as recently as round 15 this season. Fremantle prevailed by 30 points in the game at Patersons Stadium with Ballantyne kicking five goals and Tom Lee three.
4. However, Lenny Hayes has announced he will play on, with his excellent recent form represented well in the Official AFL Player Ratings. Hayes started the season 228th in the competition and will enter round 23 at 106th after a positive spike following his round 15 return from a calf injury.
5. This season, the Saints have conceded an average score of 99 points per game, which ranks them 15th in the competition. Fremantle is ranked first, having conceded only 67 per game. The Dockers are ranked fifth this season for tackles while the Saints are 17th.
6. The Dockers have played in Victoria six times in the final round of the home-and-away fixture and have never returned a win.
