The Brisbane Lions AFC are pleased to announce that Vice-Captain Jed Adcock, 2010 AFL Rising Star nominee Todd Banfield and young defender James Hawksley have all re-signed with the Club.

At just 24, Jed Adcock is the youngest member of the Lions' Leadership Group and has played 100 senior matches since joining the Club via the 2003 AFL National Draft.

Although he managed just nine senior games in 2010, Adcock remains one of the key players at the Lions having twice finished in the top three of the Club Champion award.

Todd Banfield is another who has come to terms with the Lions after an impressive second AFL season.

The 20 year-old West Australian was one of only six Lions who played every senior match in 2010 and ranked third on the Club's goal-kicking tally with 27.

James Hawksley, 21, has also penned a new deal and will continue his career with the Lions which has already produced 22 senior matches from four seasons.

Lions National Talent Manager Rob Kerr said the Club's latest signings were a positive step towards securing the Club's future.

"It's important for the Club to shore up its young players," Kerr said.

"Obviously Jed has been a key component of our side for a number of years now and we see both Todd and James playing a big role at the Lions in the long-term."

"We're also close to finalising details on some other player contracts and look forward to announcing these additional signings in the coming weeks."
