MELBOURNE'S wet weather will see all Yarra Park car parks closed for Sunday's Carton-Adelaide clash at the MCG.
The MCC says that above-average rainfall in Melbourne for June, combined with more than 25mm of rain in the past 48 hours, has meant that the grassed areas can't safely accommodate vehicles without risking long-term damage to the park.
People attending are encouraged to take public transport to the MCG, or to seek alternative parking in the CBD and surrounding suburbs.
While Yarra Park is closed, a limited number of spots will be available on the hardstand area outside Punt Road Oval for patrons with a disability permit sticker.
Access will be available via Gate 6 from 11am on Sunday.
