NORTH Melbourne small forward Jed Anderson has had shoulder surgery and could miss up to two months of football.
He ruptured his AC joint last week, and went under the knife on Monday.
"Jed was involved in a full-contact drill last Friday and was tackling when he injured his right shoulder," senior performance consultant Steve Saunders told NMFC.com.au.
"He had a reconstruction of his left shoulder before coming to North, and has injured the right AC joint. We expect him to resume full training in four to six weeks."
It means Anderson is likely to miss the entire JLT Community Series, and potentially the first few weeks of the home and away season.
The club says Anderson will still be able to maintain his pre-season fitness levels while recovering.
"He'll still be able to complete the necessary running, core and leg work," Saunders said.
"We expect him to be fit and available within the first few weeks of the season."
