Geelong has offered the ground to the Bulldogs, among other clubs, in a bid to encourage equalization within the League.
The current arrangement sees the Western Bulldogs pay Etihad Stadium at games when crowd figures are in the low 20,000s.
The gesture from Geelong could see the Dogs profit from that number of fans, with the Cats reportedly earning $750,000 per game for a capacity crowd of 22,000.
"It's a great ground, a great surface," McCartney told AFL.com.au.
"If it helps financially, and helps us grow into the west.
"It's not that far down from Geelong to the west and it's not that far into Melbourne from the west, so it's a good balance.
"We're happy to play there."
The Bulldogs financial situation currently has the club last in the competition for football department spending at $15.7 million, significantly trailing Collingwood's $21.2 million.
