THE Port Adelaide Football Club is pleased to advise its Members and Supporters that it has achieved important progress made this morning during talks with SANFL and AFL officials in Melbourne.

Following the discussions, Port Adelaide President Brett Duncanson said the Club had secured support from both organisations for its business strategy leading up to the move to Adelaide Oval.

“What we have achieved is an understanding of our business plan, and most importantly support from both the SANFL and the AFL for what is needed to deliver that plan,” Mr Duncanson said.

“Today’s talks were very constructive and collaborative and we are confident of reaching an outcome that will be to the long-term benefit of the Port Adelaide Football Club and thereby football in South Australia.

“These are complex issues and they require complex solutions and we will not be commenting on details as our discussions continue.

“The AFL Commission will be meeting the week after next and in the meantime the Port Adelaide Football Club will continue to work with the SANFL and AFL to achieve that outcome.”

Mr Duncanson thanked Members and Supporters for their loyalty, support and understanding.

“The people who follow Port Adelaide are the fabric of our Club. We are grateful for their ongoing support, belief and patience as we work to secure a fantastic future for Port Adelaide and continue our proud contribution to football in South Australia,” Mr Duncanson said.

“We will continue to keep everyone informed of progress as and when we are able to.”
