THE MCG and its surrounding parkland will go into security lockdown as the venue faces one of the most epic 24 hours in AFL history.
More than 180,000 fans are expected to attend one of two Anzac Round matches in less than a day.
The AFL, Melbourne Cricket Club and Victoria Police have been working together to ensure public safety, with both a highly visible and undercover security presence expected.
The MCC is predicting a crowd of 87,000 for Tuesday night's Melbourne-Richmond clash and 93,000 for Wednesday's Collingwood-Essendon blockbuster.

The same fixtures last year drew more than 173,000 fans.
As has become the norm for blockbuster-status matches this season, Yarra Park will be completely closed for public parking for both games.
There will be limited parking for people with disabilities and other pass holders, but even this is likely to run out.

Brunton Avenue on the southern side of the ground will be closed to through traffic.
Fans have been asked to arrive early, allowing time for security screening ahead their entry to the ground for both games.
There's a slight chance of an evening shower for Tuesday night's game, with a minimum forecast temperature of 17 degrees.
The Bureau of Meteorology says there's a 50 per cent chance of up to two millimetres of rain on Wednesday with a top temperature of 21 degrees.
