Toyota's Good for Footy program donates to grassroots clubs
A total of $48,500 goes to grassroots football clubs after round 14
A TOTAL of $48,500 will be donated to grassroots football clubs following Round 14 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season thanks to Toyota’s Good for Footy Program.
For each of the 97 goals kicked during the four Round 14 matches broadcast by Channel 7, Toyota is donating $500 to the AFL player’s nominated grassroots football club.
Melbourne’s Tom McDonald kicked five goals, an equal round high, against the West Coast Eagles with $2500 being donated to his grassroots football club, the Edenhope-Apsley Football and Netball Club in regional Victoria.
Since 2008, Toyota and the Toyota Dealer Network have contributed more than $4 million to local football clubs around Australia through the Toyota Good for Footy program.
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said Toyota’s contribution to grassroots football couldn’t be underestimated.
“It’s wonderful that our premier partner Toyota, through their Good for Footy program, is making a direct impact to grassroots football clubs with a donation of $48,500,” Mr McLachlan said.
“From the 97 goals scored across four matches during Round 14, 60 grassroots football clubs around Australia will benefit from donations.
“Grassroots footy clubs are the lifeblood of our sport, and Toyota appreciates that a lot goes into running them, so these funds will be critical in ensuring future success both on and off field,” he said.
Toyota Australia’s Executive Director Sales and Marketing Tony Cramb said Toyota and the Toyota Dealer Network were pleased to make positive contributions to grassroots football clubs.
“The company is proud the Good for Footy program is helping local clubs develop better facilities, improve coaching, purchase new equipment and attract more players,” Mr Cramb said.
Grassroots Football Clubs will receive the donation directly from Toyota’s Good for Footy program in the coming weeks.
The four matches of Round 14 where each goal attracted a $500 donation by Toyota to the player’s nominated grassroots football club are (all four matches broadcast by Channel Seven) are listed below. Followed by the grassroots football clubs who will receive donations.
