NICK Riewoldt says he is confident he can continue to have a solid working relationship with Sam Gilbert despite his involvement in the lewd photo of the St Kilda skipper that hit social networking web sites on Monday.

A photo of a nude Riewoldt with teammate Zac Dawson and another one of teammate Nick Dal Santo were shot by Gilbert and allegedly stolen from his computer.

The Saints skipper admitted he was upset at Gilbert's breach of trust but was confident it would not affect their standing as teammates.

"This photo was taken on a holiday when I got out of bed over 12 months ago by a teammate that I trust and I asked that it would be deleted then and there. Clearly it wasn't and I'm bitterly disappointed by my teammate," Riewoldt said.

"From a player's perspective, Sam and I are both professionals and we both give everything we've got to the St Kilda Football Club and that will continue to be the case. We will have a great working relationship."

Riewoldt said he had not spoken in depth to Gilbert since the images were loaded on to Facebook on Monday and that it was up to his teammate to approach him.

"I'm disappointed the photo was still on Sam's computer but ultimately the photo was removed from his computer without his knowledge or consent," he said.

"There's no fracture. We're professionals and we'll be fine."

Saints coach Ross Lyon said any personal issues between Gilbert and Riewoldt would not affect their ability to play together.

"There's no damage to the team whatsoever but I think it highlights the continued vigilance of how you conduct yourself with what you're exposed to and the dangers that lurk out there for AFL players," Lyon said.

"What's getting lost here is Sam Gilbert and Nick Riewoldt are not the perpetrators of any off-field behaviour that we are incredibly disappointed in.

"Their privacy has been invaded, this press conference is to clarify what has occurred and what association or lack of association there is."

St Kilda CEO Michael Nettlefold said that the club had spoken with Gilbert but reiterated that he had done nothing illegal.

"We've had discussions with Sam about the issue. Sam's very disappointed. It should be reinforced that these were photographs that were obtained without Sam's consent or knowledge," Nettlefold said.

"I'm not so sure that it is necessary for Sam to make an apology to the club. He's had property removed from his computer that was his property."
