Overcast conditions confronted the Collingwood team as they trained on Gosch’s Paddock on Monday 15 December.

The team worked through four main drills, which lasted for over two hours.

After a warm-up lap around the ground, the team spread across the pitch and worked on short 20 metre passes.

Experience came to the forefront during this drill with the "veterans" kicking the ball with speed.

Leon Davis was passing the ball with low, quick stabs hitting his teammate on the chest.

Jarrad Blight focused on accuracy over speed and favoured kicking the ball slightly higher than Davis and a few of the older players.

After 20 minutes the team sectioned off into five groups and worked on kicking the ball to advantage to a player running on an angle towards the wing.

The entire playing group then worked on a handball drill with four offensive players moving the ball down the line against three defenders.

The session ended with a full field training drill with various players working on specific aspects of their game.

Anthony Corrie practiced his tagging skills against one of the competition’s best, Dane Swan.

Harry O’Brien had the task of taking Brent Macaffer in the forward line.  Macaffer kicked a goal from set shot from 50 metres on a 35 degree angle.

Brad Dick tested out his knee by providing pace through the midfield.

The training session almost mirrored the regular season after John Anthony kicked true from 45 metres out slightly inside the boundary line.

Former Magpie Toby Thoolen, Bryce Carrol (Western Jets) and Michael Gugliotta (Northern Territory) continued to train with the team ahead of Tuesday's AFL Pre-Season Draft and AFL Rookie Draft.

Steele Sidebottom and Anthony Rocca worked on kicking the ball to their teammates on the wing.

Alan Toovey and Anthony Corrie ran through the first drill of the day togeather.

John Anthony was in superb form up forward while Bryce Carrol tried to impress the coaches for the final time.

VFL coach Gavin Brown worked with Ben Reid and Simon Prestigiacomo on their marking skills.
