DO you have a passion for sport and dream of being an elite athlete playing AFL one day?
The QBE Sydney Swans Academy is inviting boys aged between 9 and 12 to attend Athlete Assessment Days in the next school holidays. Registrations open Friday March 4
Last year more than 600 boys attended the assessment days where QBE Sydney Swans Academy coaching staff cast their eyes over the talented young players. A number were selected to participate in Academy programs, and this year there are more opportunities.
The Academy assessment days will be held on Tuesday April 12 and Wednesday April 13, at Lakeside Oval, opposite the SCG.
Boys will be assessed by Academy staff including head coach Paul Roos, and senior Swans players will be in attendance.
It’s important to note the assessment days are open to boys from all sports. Boys do not have to have any AFL experience.
Boys will play a range of different games and take part in activities that test ball skills, balance and co-ordination, rather than skills specific to AFL.
The QBE Sydney Swans Academy began last year and is now fully operational, providing talented boys elite training programs and coaching and this year we want to give more boys the chance to be part of our quality program.

All boys must register if they wish to attend. Registrations open on Friday March 4, and close strictly on Friday April 1 at 5pm.
Note: Swans Academy placements can only be offered to those boys who reside within our Academy Zone. However, we welcome all players who wish to be assessed to attend these days.

U9s: Tuesday April 12 - 10am - 12 noon
Turning 9 years old by 31 December 2011
U10s: Tuesday April 12 - 2pm - 4pm
Turning 10 years old by 31 December 2011
U11s: Wednesday 13 April at 10am - 12 noon
Turning 11 years old by 31 December 2011
U12s: Wednesday 13 April at 2pm - 4pm
Turning 12 years old by 31 December 2011
