GEELONG has moved another step closer to retaining its premiership squad with half-forward Paul Chapman indicating he will be staying with the club.

"I haven't re-signed but I don't think it is an issue," Chapman told Melbourne's Herald Sun newspaper.

"I want to stay a Cat forever."

Chapman is one of the last premiership players to commit to the club but says money is not a stumbling block.

"It's got nothing to do with money or anything like that there's just several little things that have to be worked out, but money definitely hasn't got anything to do with it," he said.

Chapman is keen to enjoy Geelong's success after a period of rebuilding has seen the club on the cusp of a golden era.

"I've been at this club for nine years and we've gone through that many hard years, being spanked by clubs and being smacked by the media, and it's our time to reap the rewards for all the hard work we've put in.

"I don't want to go, definitely not, because I want to enjoy the good times as much as I had to put up with the bad times," he said.

The rugged forward is set to play his 150th game at Skilled Stadium on Saturday afternoon, in the top-of-the-table clash against the Western Bulldogs.

He hopes the milestone will be one of many at Geelong, and is aiming for at least five more seasons at the Cattery.

"250 games would be beautiful," said Chapman.
