> Watch Nick Maxwell address the media on Saturday morning

Collingwood captain Nick Maxwell applauded the Magpie Army's effort in last night's preliminary final win over Geelong.

Maxwell told the media on Saturday morning that the sound of the Army was deafening and the playing group was ecstatic that it has provided the supporters with another grand final berth.

“The supporters were sensational last night,” Maxwell said during Saturday’s recovery session.??

“We couldn’t even hear each other from 20 metres away.  We actually had to run over to each other to talk.”

Maxwell did acknowledge the fact that all supporters won’t be able to make it to the grand final but he stressed the club is doing everything it can to provide its members a unique grand final opportunity.

“Of course they can’t all get there things week but we will definitely put some things in place to make sure that all our supporters are looked after and that they get to enjoy this week as much as anyone.

“They have been through some tough times over the past 40 to 50 years.  They have only the one flag and even that was 20 years ago.

“Our fans are very loyal and we are absolutely rapt that we can give them another opportunity for a grand final.”

While the side has made its first grand final under Maxwell’s captaincy, the skipper stressed its pre-season goal won’t be accomplished unless the club can win its 15th premiership.

“The job is not done.  We are far from satisfied.  We set out to win a premiership and that’s what we will try to do.”??

In positive news for the club, Luke Ball has pulled up well from last night’s cramp and is expected to line up next week.

“He (Ball) is convinced it’s a cramp.  He wanted to go back out there but the coaching staff said, 'why would you?' We were 66 points up.

“That was the best first half of footy I have been apart of in my career.  We will repeat it.

“The boys have been really focused and have a job to do.”
