NICK Holman has continued his fine comeback to the AFL by signing a one-year contract extension with Gold Coast.

Holman joined the Suns during the off-season via the NAB AFL Rookie Draft after spending two seasons in the SANFL.

He had previously played nine games in two years with Carlton before being delisted. 

The 23-year-old has been a shining light for the Suns in 2018, playing all 15 games and mixing his time between half-forward and the midfield. 

Holman said he was excited to spend another year at the club. 

"I wasn’t really sure how the whole year was going to pan out but it’s worked out really well," he said. 

"The boys have been really good and all the coaching staff have helped me out. 

"Hopefully I can give back to them what I owe."

Holman said he had surprised himself after being out of the AFL system the past two seasons. 

"I was hoping to play maybe five games, that’s probably what my mark was at the start of the year," he said. 

"But as the year’s gone on we’ve had a couple of injuries that probably favoured me a bit, I’ve been lucky enough to play them all, so that’s exciting."
