CROWS' onballer Nathan van Berlo is confident his team can get back up off the canvas and resurrect its finals chances in the remaining six rounds of the season.

Adelaide displayed some fighting spirit in Sunday’s loss to Port Adelaide, twice clawing back from three-goals down, but fell an agonising 12 points short of victory.

The Crows led the Power at the main break, but as has been the case in four of the past five weeks, fell away in the second half.

“It’s frustrating. We know we’ve let a few games slip, which you can’t afford to do otherwise you fall down the ladder, which is what we’re faced with now,” van Berlo said after the game.

“But we’re still in a position where we can win the fight, so we’ll keep fighting and fighting while the position is up there for us and I’m pretty confident the boys can respond this week.”

Van Berlo did his best to help snap Adelaide’s five-game losing streak on Sunday with 22 possessions, two goal assists and a game-high eight inside 50ms.

The 22-year-old also inspired teammates with his hard running, tackling and solid work off the ball.

Van Berlo, who is a leader at West Lakes, said it was vital the playing group maintained its confidence and focus ahead of Saturday night’s do-or-die clash with the Swans in Sydney.

“We’ll keep chipping away at where we’re looking to go, which is what we’ve been doing all year and we’ll treat each week the same. It’s a bit difficult when you’re coming off a few losses, but we’ve got to stay strong as a group, back in our gameplan and our culture and know that a win is not far off for us,” he said.

“We’ve got to recover and get up for Sydney this week because they are going to be pretty tough to beat now that they’ve cemented themselves, nearly, in the top four.”
