GOLD Coast has been dealt a blow ahead of its historic clash with Port Adelaide in Shanghai, with the news that gun midfielder David Swallow will miss the game in China after sustaining a knee injury against Geelong.
The Suns are taking a conservative approach with Swallow who has had knee troubles previously.
"We’re really conscious and careful of David; obviously he has had some injuries that have been long-term with his knee," said football manager Marcus Ashcroft.
"He had a rest a couple of weeks ago, he got a knock to the same knee on the weekend.
"It’s not a long term issue. He’ll rest this weekend and won’t play. With the long flight over to China we won’t risk him in any way."
Veteran Matt Rosa (head knock), and goalsneak Callum Ah Chee (back) will also remain in Australia after suffering injuries in the win over the Cats last Saturday night.
In better news for the Suns, full-back Rory Thompson will play against the Power after overcoming a quad strain.
