ROSS Young, a 23-year-old promoted off the rookie list after Nick Stevens’ season-ending neck injury, will make his senior debut for Carlton this Friday against St Kilda.

Young was named in the centre for the match against St Kilda. He was recruited from the University Blues FC (via the Northern Bullants), and originally hails from Donald in Victoria’s north-west.

The fleet-footed Luke Blackwell is another inclusion for the Blues, with Ryan Jackson and Simon Wiggins both missing due to injury. Jackson has a broken hand and will miss four to six weeks, while Wiggins is expected to play next week after suffering hamstring soreness.

For the Saints, Clinton Jones comes in to replace injured co-captain Lenny Hayes, while Michael Rix and James Gwilt are also inclusions from last week. Full-back Max Hudghton, thought to be a chance of playing this week, was not named.
