IT IS very rare for an eastern states team to travel to Patersons Stadium with such a dominant recent record at both the ground and against the home team. The Sydney Swans have won the last seven matches against West Coast, including four at Patersons Stadium. The Swans have also won four of their last five at the venue, with the loss coming in last year's preliminary final against Fremantle. The Swans are on a 10-match winning streak while the Eagles are spluttering, having lost eight of their last 11. The Swans' scoring power will stretch the West Coast defence, which has been stretched itself due to injuries and retirements. Lance Franklin has rocketed up to 10th in the Official AFL Player Ratings on the back of the 26 goals in his last six matches.

THE SIX POINTS
1. The Swans have defeated West Coast in each of the last seven meetings. The Eagles last win was in round 16, 2007 at Patersons Stadium.

2. Surprisingly both teams have struggled to win clearances in 2014. The Swans are 13th in the AFL with 37.7 per game. West Coast is 15th with 37 per game.

3. Nick Malceski has had more kicks than any player in the AFL this season with 243. Andrew Gaff is the Eagles' best, ranked 12th with 208.

4. One thing in the Eagles' favour is their overall record against the Swans at Patersons Stadium. West Coast has won 12 games to eight but the Swans have won the last four.

5. The Swans are ranked fourth for total disposals per game this season with 382. Josh Kennedy is ranked second in total disposals for the season with 418.

6. The Sydney Swans have three players in the top 10 of the Official AFL Player Ratings. Josh Kennedy (ranked eighth), Kieren Jack (ninth), and Lance Franklin (10th). Jarrad McVeigh is also ranked 20th and Nick Malceski 34th. The Eagles only have one player in the top 40. Nic Naitanui is ranked 27th.

Prediction: Sydney Swans by 30 points
