The club's choice to succeed Ray Gunston has to be approved by the Bombers board.
The announcement will end a two-month search for Gunston's replacement.
He joined the club as an interim chief executive in May after Ian Robson stood down as a result of the supplements scandal.
In October the former chief financial officer of Tatts Group Limited advised the club of his decision not to stay at the club.
At the club's annual general meeting on Monday, Bombers chairman Paul Little revealed 20 candidates had been interviewed for the position.
"The CEO process has been thorough if nothing else," Little said on Wednesday.
"I've conducted a number of the interviews myself. There's a very high quality of interviewees out there, so to that extent, there are a number of talented people who want to join the club, so that's a good message."
