Packed with AFL superstars past and present including Brian Taylor, Jonathan Brown, Mathew Richardson, Cameron Ling, Micky O’Loughlin, Rob Murphy, Patrick Dangerfield, Lenny Hayes, Jack Watts and Tex Walker, this year the bus will be touring to 12 regional locations during September.
Young football fans will have the chance to get one-on-one coaching advice from their AFL heroes during fun-filled coaching clinics.
Firing up Grand Final fever, the AFL superstars will also visit local community centres with the official replica Premiership Cup. With autograph signings and merchandise giveaways, the whole town will definitely know when the bus has arrived in town!
The Toyota Good for Footy Tour is an extension of the Toyota Good for Footy program - an initiative that sees over 130 football clubs across Victoria, Tasmania and Southern New South Wales benefit from funding from their local Toyota dealer. Funds help to improve grounds, renovate clubrooms and purchase equipment, uniforms and medical supplies.
“The Toyota Good for Footy Tour is a fantastic way to inspire and assist the development and ambitions of young footballers in regional communities. I am passionate about supporting grassroots football and can’t wait to hit the road and see what talent is out there - we may just discover our next AFL superstar!” Brian Taylor said.
Nathan Budge, Toyota’s Southern Regional Marketing Manager said: “'Toyota is once again proud to be taking The Good for Footy Tour on the road for the seventh consecutive year. Toyota and its dealers are continually looking for ways to make a positive contribution to grassroots football and the local communities they are supported by. To see the thrill junior footy fans get when they meet their AFL heroes is always a magnificent sight'.
By the end of the 2013 season, Toyota’s Victorian, Tasmanian and Southern New South Wales dealers will have donated more than $2.3 million to the Toyota Good for Footy Program.
