In the Double Blues’ loss to Port Magpies on Friday night, Martin played across half back and the wing, collecting 24 kicks and 12 handballs. His use of the ball was very good and he took the game on with his run and link up.
Richard Tambling had a quieter game for Sturt with nine disposals in defence, but played with a good attitude and aggression at the contest all night.
Ivan Maric was a big influence for the Magpies with a dominant game in the ruck. He had 30 hitouts, 13 possessions, four marks and kicked a good goal.
Luke Thompson had another strong defensive game in the Eagles’ big win over Glenelg. Playing on Tigers forward Kirkby, he had 18 possessions, was strong in the air and rebounded well from the backlines.
Jarryd Lyons had a strong game in the midfield for Glenelg, collecting 19 possessions and five marks with his work in close again good. James Sellar battled hard in a tough day in defence for the Tigers, finishing with 11 possessions.
In the SANFL reserves, Sam Shaw had a good game for Glenelg. Playing mainly across half back, Shaw had 21 disposals and six marks and read the play well.
James Craig was solid in the ruck for North Adelaide with 30 hitouts, 10 possessions and he kicked a goal when moved up forward. Lachlan Roach worked hard on a wing for the Roosters and finished with 21 possessions and 10 marks.
Jake von Bertouch, returning from injury, had a quiet day up forward for the Eagles and Will Young (Norwood) kicked two goals from 13 possessions and six marks.
