NORTH Melbourne is set to regain two players from injury who have driven its surprising season success for Saturday night's clash with the Western Bulldogs.
Evergreen key forward Jarrad Waite (calf) and tough midfielder Jed Anderson (hamstring), one of the most improved players in the competition, will almost certainly be key Roo additions.
They are each expected to be listed as a 'test' on North's official injury list this week, but will return barring a setback on the track.
Waite, 35, was a last-minute withdrawal ahead of the Kangaroos' 54-point demolition of Brisbane, while 24-year-old Anderson didn't return after the first five minutes of the same game.
Both have a long history with their latest ailments and injury in general, so North officials elected to keep them both out of the following week's match against Geelong before the bye.
The club line all along was that both issues were "minor", and Anderson conducted fitness tests during quarter breaks in the Lions win and maintained he could have returned if required.
The Darwin product, who is out of contract at season's end, is averaging clear career-highs in disposals (17.5), contested possessions (10.2) and clearances (4.1).
Waite is second in goals at Arden St with 22 – behind only Coleman Medal frontrunner Ben Brown's 35 – at an average of 2.4 a match.
The Roos are eighth with a 7-5 record ahead of the meeting with the 14th-placed Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.
