The Adelaide Crows will be kicking goals to beat cancer as they launch The Cancer Council’s Call to Arms campaign in their match against Essendon on May 30.

Call to Arms is an Australia-wide, male-focussed event which involves sporting teams wearing yellow armbands at a nominated match during June and supporters fundraising at the game to help fight men’s cancers.

One in two men will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85 - it could be you, or it could be your best mate.

Crows players Nathan van Berlo and Ben Rutten have put their muscle behind the campaign.

It is a subject particularly close to van Berlo's heart with his beloved Pop successfully overcoming a scare with melanoma in recent years.

At the match on Friday May 30th the Call to Arms campaign will be obvious with supporters asked to make a donation on arrival. The centre circle will be painted yellow and the umpires will be wearing yellow while the goal flags will also be yellow.

Participating in Call to Arms and wearing a yellow armband could help save someone you know from hearing the words ‘you have cancer’.

By getting your club involved in Call to Arms you will be helping to prevent and treat cancers and support men in need by funding The Cancer Council's important cancer research, education and support programs.

Joining Call To Arms is easy. Register your club at www.calltoarms.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85. Then ask players to wear a yellow armband and make a donation on match day or one day in June.
