WESTERN Bulldogs midfielder Daniel Cross believes the club's supporters shouldn't be content with the way the players fought back to draw with Richmond on Sunday, and should be "disappointed" in the group.

Cross, 25, said it was displeasing to see the club's fans satisfied with the tied result after the Dogs allowed the Tigers to move 25 points in front in the final term.

"We're sick of mediocrity around this place, and we want to come away with wins, not draws. At the end of the day, we're not happy," he told westernbulldogs.com.au directly after the game.

"The supporters should be disappointed in us. It's a sombre mood for us. Apparently our supporters were happy out there, but in here, we're not happy at all.

"For the rest of the game, we just didn't use the ball well. They played really well and it was a high-scoring match, and we did show some real fight and courage towards the end.

"But we didn't come here for two points. We came here for four, so it's back to the drawing board."

Cross booted the first of three goals in as many red-time minutes that levelled the scores, with big man Will Minson slotting the final major with 14 seconds remaining on the clock.

"I had no idea how long was left [after the first goal]," Cross admitted.

"After it happened, the message came out that there were still a few minutes to go and that there was still time for us,"

"Footy moves so quickly these days that if you get it straight out of the centre, you're a big chance.

"We were lucky enough to do that, and we just couldn't quite get over the line in the end."

The talented ball magnet said there was a feeling of escaping jail in the Dogs' rooms after the game.

"We were really lucky to come away with that," he conceded.

"Four goals down with 10 minutes to go … we were extremely lucky. We haven't lost, but at the end of the day, we would have loved the win."

Cross is hoping Sunday's game teaches the Dogs a lesson that will benefit the side at the business end of the home-and-away season.

"It could help us in the end, but hopefully we keep winning and winning and it doesn't matter in the end," he said.

"It might get us into the finals, (or) it might get us into the top four. You never know.

"There's a long way to go in the season, and we just need to worry about West Coast this week."
