THE CROWS look set to blood another debutant when they tackle Fremantle at AAMI Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Midfielder Bryce Campbell was called up to replace Luke Jericho (cracked sternum) last week, but he too has fallen victim to Adelaide’s injury curse.

Campbell rolled an ankle in the loss to Hawthorn and is in serious doubt after missing Wednesday’s main training session.

The Crows injury count now stands at 12, and coach Neil Craig has run out of proven players to replace Campbell.

Last week Adelaide’s first and third 2007 NAB AFL draft picks, Patrick Dangerfield and Jarrhan Jacky, made the trip to Launceston.

This week it appears that either Dangerfield or Jacky, who were ironically born on the same day but a year apart, will have to take the field.

Dangerfield, who has remained in Victoria to finish his schooling this season, trained with Adelaide during the holidays and forward Ken McGregor said the 18-year-old was ready.

"He's still very raw. He's 100 per cent at the ball and he just goes straight at it,” McGregor said.

“He's got that young way of thinking as in 'I just want to get out there and rip it', so it's great to see. I think he's ready and if he plays he can play a good game, but there are other players who can come up too.”

Jacky and Andy Otten loom as the other contenders to come into the 22.

Jacky played with the Crows during the NAB Cup competition and has been in good form with SANFL side Woodville-West Torrens.

Otten was on the fringe of selection in pre-season and has showed his prolific ball winning capabilities in his first three games with South Adelaide.

Two Crows, Kurt Tippett and David Mackay have already made their AFL debut this season.
