EXCITING Adelaide forward Charlie Cameron has signed a contract extension that will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2018 season.

He's been joined at the contract table by Riley Knight who has inked a new two-year deal to stay a Crow until at least the end of 2017.

Cameron, who was already contracted for 2016, has signed on for an additional two years.

The 21-year-old has booted 25 goals from 18 games this year and earned a Rising Star nomination for his 13 possessions and one goal against the Brisbane Lions in round 13.

"I've learnt so much in my short time at the Crows particularly about what it takes to compete at the elite level," Cameron said.

"We have a great group of players at the Club and I am excited to continue to work together towards success."

Cameron has matured significantly this season and earlier this month told AFL.com.au he had improved his off-field game in 2015.

Eddie Betts has played a large role in mentoring the youngster, so it's not surprising the pair play a similar brand of football. 

Both thrive on putting teammates in goal-scoring positions and both bring a fearsome defensive intensity.

Head of football David Noble said Cameron was hugely important to the future of the club's forward line.

"Charlie is an important part of our developing forward line," Noble said.

"He is a fierce tackler who uses his speed to apply strong defensive pressure.

"Charlie is always looking to bring other players into the game which demonstrates the club’s team-first approach."

Knight, 20, was recruited by the Crows with pick No.46 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft and debuted this year in round 15, playing every game since.

“It’s awesome to get another couple of years at Adelaide,” Knight said.

“It’s good to see that the young boys know where the club is heading, and believe that team success is around the corner.”
