LAST TIME THEY MET
Simon Black notched up his 250-game milestone as the Lions got an early taste of Finals football with a Saturday night blockbuster against arch nemesis Collingwood at the MCG.

The Lions shot out of the blocks early with skipper Jonathan Brown booting three majors in the first quarter.

Collingwood gradually steadied in the second before a trio of late goals had the Lions roaring at half-time.

The Lions' three-goal lead only lasted until the 10th minute of the third quarter as Collingwood kicked five goals to none in a stifling third term marked by heavy defensive pressure.

Things got uglier in the final term as the inaccurate Pies kicked three goals nine to the Lions' solitary goal to run out comfortable 40-point winners.

Brownlow Medal Votes: 3 - S. Pendlebury (Coll), 2 - L. Davis (Coll), 1 - J. Brown (BL).
