Geelong’s preliminary final rematch against top of the ladder Collingwood will be shown live by Channel seven on Friday night.

Seven general manager Lewis Martin made the announcement today, saying that the form of both clubs and the significance of the top two teams clashing made the decision an easy one for the network.

The broadcast will begin at 7:30pm, with Cats premiership skipper Tom Harley joined in the commentary box by 1990 Collingwood premiership coach Leigh Matthews, Bruce McAvaney and Dennis Commetti.

Geelong and Collingwood have been the form teams of the 2010 season, with the Magpies on top at 7-1 and the Cats sitting second at 6-2.

The clubs have twice met in recent preliminary finals, with the cats prevailing in 2007 and 2009 en route to premierships.
