WEST Coast coach Adam Simpson is encouraging fans to come to Subiaco Oval to "say goodbye to the old girl" as the club gears up for the Grand Final.

Thousands of Eagles fans are expected to turn out for the club's open training session on Monday, starting at 11.30am (1.30pm AEST).

Not only will it be their chance to cheer on their AFL heroes, but it could be the last time they get to set foot inside Subiaco Oval.

The former home of WA football will be demolished at a date to be determined to make way for a new high school, a public open space and houses.

West Coast have been using the ground for training purposes this year.

But they will move to their new headquarters in Lathlain later this year in time for pre-season training.

"Everyone says embrace the week," Simpson said of the Grand Final euphoria that awaits his side.

"We'll open up training on Monday at Subi so get everyone down there to say g'day.

"It's probably the last time we'll train there so a good chance to say goodbye to the old girl."

The Eagles will start as underdogs against Collingwood.

But Simpson said his team's experience of 2015, when they lost the Grand Final to Hawthorn, had given them a vital insight into what to expect this time around.
