Melbourne has made two changes to its on-field leadership group for the coming AFL season.

The five-man group will be this year's captain David Neitz, Cameron Bruce, Brad Green, Brock McLean and James McDonald.

McLean, who is only 20 and has played just 47 games, and McDonald will join the group at the expense of Russell Robertson and Brad Miller.

It is understood Neitz will again captain the club, with an announcement to be made closer to the start of next season.
