GOLD Coast star Gary Ablett has suffered another hamstring tear, and will miss Saturday's QClash with the Brisbane Lions.
Interim coach Dean Solomon confirmed Ablett had hurt his right hamstring, but was hopeful the gun midfielder would be fit for the round 22 game against Essendon.
"I just spoke to him then and he's really keen to push hard for next week," Solomon said.
Ablett had 33 disposals against Fremantle on Saturday night after missing four of the previous six matches with a combination of hamstring and calf problems.
This time it's the opposite hamstring to the one that had previously given him problems.
Ablett's absence comes on the back of news earlier in the week that co-captain Tom Lynch would miss the remaining three matches of the season with a PCL injury.
Solomon said Ablett would travel north to Brisbane on Saturday and would speak with both the NEAFL and AFL teams at half-time and at the end of the games.
"His attitude has been amazing over the last 24 or 48 hours," Solomon said.
"He was taking drills today, which was great from Gaz.
"He'll be up supporting the team.
"I want to lean on him and his experience in and around football to educate our players.
"He has absolute buy-in, he wants to do that, he's heavily invested in this football club.
"I can't be more impressed with the attitude he's shown."
