Is there a bigger rivalry in Australian sport than Carlton v Collingwood?

On Sunday at the MCG the rivalry will continue and the teams will be playing for the Richard Pratt Cup in front of an anticipated crowd of around 90,000.

Late Friday afternoon the AFL confirmed tickets to the game were selling extremely strongly on a demand basis with several thousand seats remaining available in the Public section of the ground. Only a small number of seats are still available to AFL members.

Such is the interest in the game the AFL has released the following information regarding tickets for Sunday’s clash at the MCG. The most important matter is the purchase of a reserved seat to ensure access as access for 2010 membership holders without a reserved seat will be subject to capacity on the day.

The AFL is encouraging all fans to purchase a ticket in advance to avoid disappointment, as well as to avoid entry queues on the day, and supporters should note the following key detail:

PUBLIC RESERVE
•    Carlton and Collingwood Club members with general entry entitlements to the game will be able to access remaining seats or standing room areas by scanning their 2010 club membership card at the gate (subject to capacity).
•    General Admission tickets are subject to availability and are not guaranteed to be available for sale on match day.

AFL RESERVE
•    Once remaining seating is sold, limited standing room area positions will be available for AFL Member walk-up on Sunday.
•    To access standing room areas, AFL Members will be required to scan their 2010 AFL Membership card at the gate (subject to capacity).
•    Due to the high demand of reserved seating by AFL Members for this match, guest passes will not be available at the gate.

Tickets are currently on sale through Ticketek on 132 849, at any Ticketek outlet or online at ticketek.com.au.

The MCC also advises those attending the MCG on Sunday to allow plenty of time to arrive at the stadium and to take public transport where possible.

Public and AFL gates will open at 12.00pm and the MCC Members Reserve will open at 11.00am.
