For the second week in succession the SwansTV Play of the Day features a goal that starts on the last line of defence.
In this week's edition, the Saints went inside forward 50 at the ten minute mark of the second quarter looking for the ever-dangerous Stephen Milne. Lewis Roberts-Thomson was awake to the threat of Milne and produced some nice bodywork to edge him out and take a nice defensive mark.
From Roberts-Thomson's clearing kick, Sam Reid took a contested mark and dished off a quick handpass to the overlapping Dan Hannebery.
Hannebery continued his run and drove a long kick towards a two-on-two contest, where Ryan O'Keefe was able to use his body to get rid of Brendon Goddard and take the mark before running towards goal in an open 50 metre arc.
After starting his run from the wing, a sprinting Adam Goodes was able to burn off his direct opponent, receive the handpass from O'Keefe and dribble a goal past St Kilda's Raph Clarke while still accelerating.
The goal was Goodes' second in the first half and complimented an outstanding 25-possession game.
