COLLINGWOOD forward Sophie Casey has accepted a two-match ban for her late hit on Melbourne's Meg Downie in the last quarter of the Magpies' loss last Saturday.
Casey's charge of engaging in rough conduct was graded as careless conduct with high impact to the head. She risked missing three weeks if she had contested the charge at the Tribunal.
Considering the short nature of the NAB AFL Women's competition – seven rounds compared to 23 for the men – a two-match ban is be the equivalent of a male player missing six games.
The Pies are on the bottom of the ladder after also falling short in their round one clash against Carlton.

Western Bulldogs defender Laura Bailey will miss a week after accepting a charge of engaging in rough conduct against Adelaide's Courtney Cramey in the third term last Friday.
The incident was seen as intentional conduct with low impact to the head.
A match day report of Bailey's teammate Hannah Scott was thrown out after her charge of making front-on contact against Rachael Killian was seen as having insufficient force to justify a report.
Carlton star Brianna Davey is also in the clear after her tackle on Greater Western Sydney's Jessica Dal Pos was seen as fair, since at the point of impact, Davey had both hands on the football.
