Fevola had been scheduled to shoot footage for the commercial which will air on Queensland television later in March.
But the AFL released a statement on Thursday saying Fevola would no longer be part of the campaign.
The Coleman Medallist was traded to the Lions from Carlton last year following his well-documented poor behaviour at the 2009 Brownlow Medal count.
Recently, Fevola has been implicated in the unauthorised distribution of a photograph of model Lara Bingle. The photograph was taken several years ago but was published in an edition of Woman's Day.
The AFL is investigating the incident and had discussions with Fevola on Wednesday.
