SYDNEY Swans forward Daniel Bradshaw had minor knee surgery today and will miss the next three matches.

Bradshaw came off injured in the third term against Fremantle last Saturday, and was still struggling with knee soreness yesterday so he was sent for an arthroscope.

The surgery today found there were no significant problems with Bradshaw's right knee, but just minor wear and tear which was cleaned up.

The Swans medical staff expect him to miss the matches against Hawthorn, Essendon and Port Adelaide, and return to the field for the game against Collingwood at ANZ Stadium on June 26, after the Club's split round break.

The Club's injury woes were compounded last Saturday when both Bradshaw and Tadhg Kennelly left the field with knee injuries.

Swans coach Paul Roos expected Kennelly to miss at least three weeks after suffering a strained medial ligament in the opening minutes against Fremantle.

Kennelly has previously defied doctors’ expectations with his fast recovery from injury but Roos said he wasn’t expecting any miracles this time.

“The early indications are three weeks. Tadhg’s normally pretty good… at recovering so who knows, but at this stage we’d plan to not have him for the next three games,” Roos said.

Roos said the Swans’ mounting injury list, which also includes experienced players Craig Bolton (achilles), Craig Bird (foot), Mark Seaby (ankle), Ben McGlynn (quad) and Jarred Moore (ankle), was one of the reasons for their three-game losing streak.

“We’re a different team and that’s the most frustrating thing. We’re probably seven players different to what we were three weeks ago,” he said.

“From a positive point of view… I thought [Dan] Hannebery, Lewis Jetta, [Gary] Rohan, Campbell Heath, Nick Smith [and] those sort of guys really stepped up in the second half.

“That’s probably the focus area now. If we get players back, well and good. If we don’t, there are some really exciting things happening within the footy club and we’ve got to take the opportunity to play those guys and give them big minutes.”

Despite the injury crisis, several Swans’ reserves players have continued to push for a senior berth.

Midfielder Matt O’Dwyer (54 possessions) and Trent Dennis-Lane (seven goals) were the latest to put their hands up with stellar efforts in the seconds’ 63-point win against Belconnen on Saturday.
