WANTAWAY Giant Devon Smith has toured Essendon and Carlton's training facilities.
The 24-year-old didn't play in any of Greater Western Sydney's finals after missing week one against Adelaide with the knee injury he battled for much of the year.
Smith is expected to nominate his club of choice by Friday. His manager Ned Guy confirmed on Wednesday that Smith was interested in a club's rehab program.
"A big one for Devon is the player management, how they manage the players (coming) back through rehab," Guy told NAB AFL Trade Radio.
"Obviously he was in a race against time to get back for the prelim final and just missed out, so he's just assessing everything at each club as a whole and he'll make a call pretty quickly."
Smith has also attracted significant interest from Collingwood and St Kilda.
Earlier this week, the Blues confirmed Smith was the ideal age for their list requirements, but would want him to prove his knee was sound first.
"That 22 [years-old] to 25-26 [bracket], we're light on. We need to bolster that somewhat," Carlton head of football Andrew McKay said on Monday.
"We've got some interest in Devon, he's obviously a proven player from GWS.
"He still played on [the knee] this year.
"We'll have to wait to see a medical first but we'd think with a PCL, it's nowhere near the degree of an ACL or anything like that.
"There's two schools of thought depending on how bad the PCL is, on whether you operate or you don't.
"We'll have to go through that process really thoroughly and that'll form part of our decision-making as well."
