There was some speculation that Carr may consider leaving Fremantle with his contract up at the end of the season, but he has moved quickly to end it.
"I'm happy here," Josh said on Wednesday. "There have been no discussions yet with the club about a new contract, at the moment I'm just focusing on playing good football.
"There's nothing in the rumours of me wanting to leave, but there is always talk when you come out of contract and you just ignore it."
After a good performance against North Melbourne on Saturday, Fremantle's challenge is to now win two straight games for the first time this season.
"It's a good opportunity for our young guys to play on Friday night," Josh said. "Telstra Dome also presents a challenge as we have a poor record there and we are looking forward to start turning that history around.
"St Kilda has been under the pump like us over the last six or seven weeks, but we are just focusing on ourselves. We've been disappointed with what's happened so far, but we are very happy coming off a win and are focused on stringing a couple of good performances together."
Since returning from suspension, Carr hasn’t made a beeline to alter the way he plays or remove the niggle from his game, but with a change in the midfield balance he's enjoyed the freedom of playing out of the centre square.
"Over the last few weeks we've managed to settle the midfield with a good blend of younger and older guys. Our clearance work still isn’t where we'd like it to be, but it's getting better and we've been working things better through there," he said.
"I haven’t approached the game any differently and I wouldn’t say I've held back at all. I played half-forward last week so wasn’t in the thick of the action as much and my role will be similar this week.
"I will just keep going along the way I have been and enjoy it."
