High profile recruits Luke Ball and Darren Jolly will wear number 12 and number 18 respectively, while Ben Sinclair will don number 28, Josh Thomas has been given number 40 and ex-Demon Simon Buckley will wear number 41.
Ball’s number 12 guernsey has been worn by club greats Denis Banks and Ross ‘Twiggy’ Dunne, while Jolly’s number 18 has been worn in the past by players the calibre of Paul Licuria and the Richardson brothers, Wayne and Max.
All players remaining from the 2009 senior and rookie lists have retained the same guernsey numbers for 2010.
Also at the AGM, McGuire declared a profit of $594,061 with turnover $62,813,731 and a record membership of 46,327, while current players Tarkyn Lockyer and Shane O’Bree were presented with life membership.
Board members Jack Kennedy, Paul Leeds and Ian McMullin were re-elected unopposed, while Olympic gold medallist Alisa Camplin was officially welcomed onto the board, replacing Sally Capp, who retired from the board due to new work opportunities overseas.
