THE Port Adelaide Football Club has taken another leap in the use technology in the AFL.

Adelaide-based information technology solution provider Netics has joined the Power as a Key Partner, taking charge of the Club's extensive computer needs.

Established in 2004 - the year of Port Adelaide’s inaugural AFL Premiership - Netics has quickly become an IT leader, supporting medium sized organisations and Government bodies across Australia and throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Netics - which has contracts across a wide variety of sectors - has developed an outsourcing model for Port Adelaide, taking responsibility for computer and IT requirements across the Club.

Netics General Manager Ben Reynolds said the company was honoured to become a Port Adelaide partner, and expand its business into the elite sport industry.

“We look forward to working with the Club to streamline its processes and ensure its IT systems work more efficiently and securely, and keep pace with changing needs and technological advances,” Mr Reynolds said.

Port Adelaide IT Manager Nick Russell says the relationship will deliver cost efficiencies and also improve security and reliability for the Club’s critical systems.

“Without reliable and up-to-the-minute systems and the ability to change and adapt quickly, we cannot be competitive on the football field or function adequately off of it,” Mr Russell said.

“To have an expert company like Netics taking care of our systems is very reassuring.”
