WITH Adelaide Oval hosting its first AFL game, Port Adelaide midfielder Travis Boak produced something to remember in the match against Melbourne.

The unique character and heritage of the ground has withstood the test of time, but Boak produced his own blast from the past with a classic torpedo punt after the quarter-time siren.

Boak was 55m out at the Southern end, not far in from the boundary line, with the Power trailing the Demons by 10 points after a enthralling first quarter.

The 23-year-old superstar struck the spiral perfectly as it sailed majestically through the big sticks, much to the astonishment of the onlookers in the nearby Bradman stand.

Boak's effort put the Power within four points at the first change, with the margin just a solitary point at half-time in a see-sawing affair.
