ST KILDA looks set to be a major player in the final day of the Gillette AFL Trade period.
The Saints still maintain hope of securing West Coast's Mitch Brown despite the Eagles refusing to entertain a deal involving the contracted defender.
St Kilda has offered pick 25 and homesick West Australian native Jamie Cripps for Brown, which the Eagles have rejected for now.
The Age reports that the Saints, who have already landed Gold Coast's Tom Hickey and WAFL star Tom Lee in the trade period, are seeking to further boost their forward line with a late pick in exchange for out-of-favour Sydney Swan Trent Dennis-Lane.
The Saints could also end up dealing Farren Ray to Melbourne, with the Demons yet to offer a suitable draft pick as a trade. That deal is likely to depend on whether the Demons can come to terms with the Brisbane Lions over a trade for Stefan Martin.
The Age also reports that Melbourne has agreed to send Cale Morton to West Coast in exchange for pick 88, which was originally Melbourne's pick before it was traded to Port Adelaide for David Rodan on Thursday.
The Power then traded the pick to West Coast for defender Lewis Stevenson.
North Melbourne big man Cam Pedersen looks set to become a Demon in a deal that would send Jordan Gysberts to North Melbourne.
The Kangaroos still maintain hope of locking in Port Adelaide midfielder Ben Jacobs, while they have all but officially confirmed a trade that would send Aaron Edwards to Richmond for pick 74.
Kurt Tippett's potential move to the Sydney Swans could still be jeopardised by allegations of improper dealings in his last contract with Adelaide.
The deadline for trades is 2pm AEDT today.
