In a new feature to collingwoodfc.com.au, “Stat Attack” will feature an in-depth look into Collingwood statistics provided by Champion Data.

This week's "Stat Attack" focuses on Collingwood's increased number of disposals, interstate v local record and two strong Magpie performers on the weekend.

Disposals aplenty
The Magpies recorded 438 disposals for the match, highest for the round.  They had 237 kicks (second highest) and 201 handballs (highest for round).  

Collingwood had 44 more kicks than West Coast and 34 more handballs (78 more disposals).  They also had a staggering 49 more marks (128 total marks). 

Effective disposals
Collingwood had 326 effective disposals for the match, the most in the round.  The Magpies used the ball with 74.4% efficiency, which was sixth best for the round. 

Local v Interstate
The Magpies have continued their dominant performances interstate recording two wins from two matches.  They average 405 disposals interstate, 40 more than when playing in Melbourne and 50 more than the home side.  The Magpies average 50 more kicks than the home side (240 average kicks per interstate match) compared to 204 kicks in Melbourne. 

Nick Maxwell in career-best form
The skipper was outstanding in defence on Saturday night collecting a career-high 29 possessions.  Maxwell took three contested marks and used the ball with 79% efficiency.  In his past four matches since his return from suspension, Maxwell is averaging 24 possessions and nine marks.

The rise of Cameron Wood
In just his second senior game of the season and 31st of his five-year career, Cameron Wood played an integral part in the side’s win.  Wood had nine hitouts for the match, four to advantage (44.4% the highest percentage in the match and second highest for the round for players who had five or more).  The 204-centimetre ruckman played just 66 minutes (54% game time).  He had 23 disposals for the match and used the ball with 78% efficiency.
