Team of the Decade

Shaun joined his big brother Peter when he was drafted at Number 12 in the 2000 National AFL Draft. He started his career at the Port Adelaide Football club in 2002, debuting in Round 3, 2002, against St Kilda at the Telstra Dome. ‘Junior’ was a Premiership player in 2004, won All Australian honours in 2006, and represented Australia in the International Rules Series in 2008. At the end of the 2009 season Shaun Burgoyne requested to play in Melbourne, and was subsequently traded to Hawthorn for two first round picks.
