OUT-OF-CONTRACT Bulldog Matthew Boyd insists he isn't concerned Friday night's semi-final against Hawthorn could be the last game he plays for a club he's served for 14 seasons.

The 271-game veteran didn't want to talk about his playing future when asked by reporters on Monday, but conceded his situation wouldn't be clarified until season's end.

Boyd, 34, is still a major cog in Luke Beveridge's side and his form across half-back this season was rewarded with a third All Australian jumper.

"I'm not really prepared to talk about personal circumstances when we're here to prepare (for Hawthorn) as a footy club," Boyd said.

"A lot of people talk about their future post-season. so I'm no different in that respect.

"I've maintained along the journey this year that it's about me putting my best foot forward for the team and to make sure my performance is up to a standard that helps the team perform at its optimal level."

Boyd's manager Bruce Kaider told Fox Sports last week an offer to play on was withdrawn over concerns about the veteran's output mid-season.

Boyd has averaged 27 disposals across 21 matches in 2016.

"The deal was taken off the table because there was concerns over Boyd's form over the previous four to six weeks," Kaider said.

"They told us they will see how he performs for the rest of the season plus finals and revisit the contract status at the end of the year."

The former club captain is the only veteran left to re-contract after injured skipper Robert Murphy and evergreen defender Dale Morris signed deals to play on in 2017.

Boyd has played 271 games since being picked up with pick 23 in the 2003 rookie draft.
