LANCE Franklin will be the most talked about Sydney Swan in 2014, but when it comes to NAB AFL Fantasy, the big-name recruit is just one of many intriguing players in the Harbour City.

Franklin will begin his first season at his new club priced at an affordable $426,500.

He averaged only 78.7 points in his final year at Hawthorn, where he was given a different role that affected his goal tally and, as a result, his fantasy scores.

In both 2011 and 2012 the four-time All Australian averaged more than 100 points a game and, depending on how and where he's deployed by Swans coach John Longmire, could rise back to that mark.

Another player looking for a return to 2012 levels will be gun midfielder Josh Kennedy ($493,000).

The clearance machine's fantasy value dropped last season as his average fell to 90, and he'll start 2014 priced below the competition's elite midfielders.

There's no reason, however, that he can't re-establish himself in the top bracket, and he could prove a shrewd addition to fantasy midfields.

Three key Swans have increased fantasy appeal next season based on their new positions.

Co-captain Jarrad McVeigh ($529,900) is now a midfielder/defender, having been a midfielder only in 2013, when he averaged 97.8.

Fellow prolific scorers Luke Parker ($459,000) and Tom Mitchell ($488,700) – both midfielders in 2013 – are now midfielder/forwards.

Parker averaged 84.7 in 2013 and Mitchell 90.2.

At $549,400, Kieren Jack is the most expensive Swan.

He was the only one of Longmire's men to average more than 100 last year.

If you're looking for value, keep a close watch on Mike Pyke ($402,100).

With Shane Mumford gone, the big Canadian will be the Swans' No.1 ruckman next season, and looks certain to post career-best numbers.

Speedy forward Gary Rohan ($138,400) is a bargain basement option.

The 22-year-old made a cautious return from his horrific broken leg late last season, and looked a little way off the pace in averaging 25.5.

However, given his immense talent and with another summer to further regain strength and touch, he seems highly likely to experience a sharp rise in price during the year.
